Too Much Fun to Ask....but....

...as you finish up your projects please blog a little about how your project proposal was interwoven with the NCATE Standards you included. This addition will really tie up the work you have done in this course. Your objectives are being reached through these standards, so of course in your evaluation of your project it will be helpful to reflect on those standards. Thanks!

Be sure to add at least two links to your blog to support your project. You can use Wequest or others such as youtube or teachertube. These links should help you investigate and be applied to your project. They should be 'research" for what you and your kids will be doing as you implement your project. Never heard of teachertube? Check this out!!

We are off! All projects approved. I hope you will take the time to follow your classmates-you will find lots of neat ideas for your own classroom. This is becoming a real "community of learners" north, south, east, west!

Purrrrrr-fect!

Practicum Online Meeting

Many of you have questions about the course that will be answered when you receive the syllabus this week.

Online teaching and learning can be challenging without direct contact. And so, I will be offering an online conference call to go over the syllabus if you need extra help.

On Saturday August 22 at 10:00 am I will send you an invitation to my dimdim.com presentation of our syllabus. This format will also be used by you to present your practicum final project.

I will place syllabus information in a PowerPoint presentation, invite you to see it and call in to hear me speak via telephone.

This is not a mandatory meeting-only attend if you need extra help.

You will be able to attend with any computer/Internet and your phone. However, you do need to establish a dimdim.com account email and send it to me before Friday. This account is free.

The syllabus will be sent to you via email and also be placed on AUM Blackboard. Instead of a textbook, we will be using Webquest.org. You can use it for free for 30 days but you may want to invest the $30.00 to have access to it for your practicum and classroom teaching. We will be using the Quest garden section of Webquest.org:

See your AUM email for telephone numbers.

Creating Our Practicum Blog

A community of learners no longer is good enough when students live 300 miles away from campus. And so, the need for a community of bloggers now exsists. I am new to blogging, never found is important, but with the help of Dr. Buskist, I see how this bit of technology can create more than teachers/students completing assignments for a course. Blogging opens up the opportunity for teachers/students to "see" and connect with one another-no matter the location. Teachers never seem to have the time to talk to the teacher next door. Now next door might be Florida for AUM students, or further.
And so...let's begin. New to become old hat, or old school, or maybe just no longer old...but willing to try out what technology can create for teachers and my AUM students.
